William “Bill” Bevins, a longtime resident of Perry passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a brief illness. He was 81. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

Bill was born August 16, 1939 in Blackburn, Oklahoma to Clifford and Bonnie (Callison) Bevins. He graduated from Blackburn High School in 1959. In September of 1959 he joined the United States Air Force where he served two different tours.

He and Judy Payne were married December 24, 1961 in Hugo, Oklahoma, and to that union three sons were born.

Bill worked as a Programmer for several years and retired from Ditch Witch in Perry. He was of the Church of Christ faith and served as a Deacon and Elder of the Perry Church of Christ for many years. He also enjoyed quail hunting, fishing, wood working, and reading Louis L’Amour books.

Survivors include his three sons, Bradley Bevins of Perry, Oklahoma, Tim Bevins of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Bryan Bevins and wife Tonya of Perry, Oklahoma; sister, Helen Long of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bob Bevins and wife Janice of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, and Joe Bevins and wife Emmy of Manford, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Marissa Bevins of Perry, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy in 2015; parents; and one brother, Ronnie Bevins.

Visitation will be 9AM to 8PM Friday and Saturday, February 26th and 27th at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Family will be available from 2PM to 4PM on Saturday for family greeting. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Cremation services provided by Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
