Eulene Melton passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was 80. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

A Celebration of Eulene’s life will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11AM at the First Baptist Church in Perry with pastor Kim Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Monte Melton, Marty Piel, Josh Kennedy, Rhett Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, Ryan Smith, and Calvin Leach. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Brand, Lanny Miller, Lynn Turney, and Chance Cain. Funeral services will be livestreamed on the funeral homes facebook page for those who are unable to attend.

Eulene was born March 13, 1940 in Washington, Oklahoma to James Harve and Helen (Jackson) Murphy. She graduated from Washington High School in 1958, and soon after graduation she and Dalton Melton were married on May 23rd of the same year in Purcell, Oklahoma.

She enjoyed seasonal decorating in her home, and gardening. Family cookouts at “The Barn” were always a highlight of her life as well. Every year she and Dalton would travel to Port Aransas, Texas to fish and shop. Sometimes several of her family would tag along to enjoy the fun as well. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Dalton Melton; three children, Sherry Piel and husband Marty of Perry, Oklahoma, Leann Cain of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Monte Melton and wife Kerrie of Guthrie, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Shiloah Kennedy and husband Josh, Mallory Johnson, Ashley Strednak and husband Ben, Chance Cain, Kristen Todd and husband Mike, and Ryan Smith and wife Anastasia; eleven great-grandchildren, Rhett Kennedy, Reese Kennedy, Zoey Johnson, Pheonix Strednak, Aiden Strednak, Tucker Strednak, Brynley Strednak, Blake Todd, Kyleigh Todd, Catia Smith, Ryan Smith, Jr.; brother, James Howard Murphy and wife Floy of Norman, Oklahoma; sister, Loretta Ketner and husband Carl of Norman, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Alvin Murphy.
