First Presbyterian Church of Perry joyfully announces the hire of Rev. Ron Fike, who was elected by the congregation on Jan. 17, to serve as the Pastor/Head of Staff.

The congregation welcomed him to the pulpit on Sunday, Feb. 7 for his first official Sunday morning worship service.

Fike has been leading ministry since 1995 and has an impressive resume with extensive education, training, service, and knowledge of Christian theology.

He previously served 14 years at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City as the Pastor/Head of Staff. Fike is originally from Nebraska, raised in a small, rural community.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska before attending the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Iowa to obtain a Master of Divinity degree.

Fike is married to Anita, a music teacher and talented pianist, from Nebraska and together they have nine children and 11 grandchildren.

“The church’s friendliness and communitymindedness made a big impression on me. The people are caring and thoughtful, the new building is attractive and welcoming, and the playground is appealing to families. I am excited to serve the church and the Perry community,” says Fike.

The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) of First Presbyterian Church conducted a thorough 18 month search, filtering through hundreds of candidates. “We are grateful Pastor Ron felt called to Perry and look forward to the work God has planned for us through him,” commented the committee.

First Presbyterian Church is located at 1922 North 15th Street and meets for Sunday morning service at 10:30 a.m., where all are welcome to worship. Church office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
