Noble County is full of communities that are known to give, donate, and volunteer in a variety of ways as a means of reaching out to those in need and provide everyone possible with a wonderful holiday season.

If you find yourself with spare time, money, or items to donate, Perry has several local options for you to consider donating to.

The local food pantry located on the East Side of the Square behind Schieffer’s Insurance takes donations year-round.

They can always use food donations or even your own time as a volunteer helping prepare for their shopping days.

You can contact the Perry Food Pantry through their Facebook for more information.

Operation Blessing is always accepting new volunteers and donations as well, during the holidays along with their shopping days they put together food baskets for those who may need them.

Those different holiday staples, such as ham, turkey, boxed dressing, cranberry sauce, holiday pies, whipped topping, sweet potatoes, marshmallows, rolls, butter, eggs, milk, roasting pans, pineapples, and turkey gravy.

They are also always accepting donations of clothing, household items, fixtures, appliances and furniture.

If you would like more information or to volunteer your time, contact LouAnn Hunt at 580-336-3313 Monday through Friday from 8:30 p.m. to noon.

Another option for toy donations is the annual Santa Cop through Perry Fraternal Order of Police. Deliveries will be accepted until Dec. 22, just ask any Perry Police Officer or come by the station at 724 Cedar Street to make your donation.

Sixteen local children have been chosen and the FOP will use donations to purchase toys and clothing for the children.

With so many local options to help those less fortunate in our area, everyone should be able to find the perfect way they can give back to the community. There are also many different national organizations, such as Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army collecting donations during this holiday season. Share with your friends to spread holiday cheer and the joy of giving back far and wide!
